Uppingham Town Cricket Club

On a very blustery and rain free afternoon the home team went into bat with Wolloff and Nourish in what was an explosive start. The run rate was going up very well when Wolloff was bowled out for his impressive 36 runs . Joe Nourish continued to bat well before being bowled out for his 64 runs. With contributions from the bat from T.Scott 17,S.Wade 14, J.Norton 15, T.Roberts 7 and Ben Harford for his 25 N.o. the home team went onto put on an impressive 211 runs on the board.

After the heavily cake laden tea Wigston St James went out to bat and it wasn't until the 25th over before we got a breakthrough when Crombie bowled out their skipper who was on 54. It was a nail biting afternoon in the field with good bowling spells from George and Tom Scott and some tight bowling from Clarke and the late bowling spells from Crombie and Roberts who both took 3 wickets each,we managed to restrict them enough to fall short of the Uppingham total by 4 runs.

The game could have gone either way and it was great to see over 400 runs scored on a good batting wicket luckily the game went our way for our first win of the season.
